Street Spirit Competition Terms

  • Entrants must be at least 16 years of age (for the 50cc bike) or 17 or over (for the 125cc bike) on 1st July 2019.
  • Entrants must be 25 or younger on the day they enter.
  • To win one of the two prize bikes, or any of the runner-up prizes, the main residential address of entrants must be within the catchments of Essex County Council, Thurrock Council or Southend Borough Council. Proof will be required in the form of a utility bill or official ID.
  • Entrants for the bikes must be in possession of a valid driving licence (provisional or full) on 1st July 2019, and must also have completed their Compulsory Basic Training.  Proof will be required.
  • This competition is run by the Essex County Fire & Rescue Service on behalf of the Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP), Seax House, County Hall, Market Road, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1QH; employees involved in the management of these organisations and their immediate family are not permitted to enter the competition.
  • Any breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant will void their entry.
  • Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry.
  • By entering, the winners agree to their names and general locations being used for publicity purposes.
  • The winners of the bikes will receive a year’s free insurance cover provided by Devitt Insurance (subject to acceptance and to a limit of £500).  Winners may arrange their own insurance cover if appropriate, but must provide proof of insurance before the prize bikes are handed over.
  • The prize bike winners will also receive full protective clothing including a crash helmet, gloves, boots, protective jeans and protective jacket/hoodie. Three runners up prizes of the same protective clothing will also be awarded.
  • The prize does not include travel to collect the prizes and the winners must make his or her own arrangements. 
  • The prize bikes are a brand new (unregistered) Yamaha 50cc Aerox and a Yamaha MT125-ABS. The bikes will be registered to the prize winners and provided with road tax and a full manufacturer’s warranty from the date of registration. Winners of the bikes will be required to provide all necessary personal details and information, with proof, to enable the bikes to be registered, taxed and insured.
  • The bikes will be branded and trailered around the county of Essex to promote the Street Spirit campaign (no mileage will be incurred). The branding will be removed before the bikes are finally presented to the winners, but will remain in place for publicity and media coverage.
  • The winners will be randomly selected by the Safer Essex Roads Partnership from the pool of entries received once the prize draw finishes.
  • The closing date is midnight on 1st July 2019, entries received after the closing date will not be counted.
  • Neither Safer Essex Roads Partnership  nor Essex County Fire & Rescue Service will be liable for any failure of receipt of entries.
  • By entering the prize draw, participants agree to (i) the terms and conditions of the prize draw; (ii) being contacted by the Essex County Fire & Rescue Service/Safer Essex Roads Partnership (iii) appearing in press coverage of the prize awards, arranged by the Essex County Fire & Rescue Service/Safer Essex Roads Partnership 
  • Essex County Fire & Rescue Service/ Safer Essex Roads Partnership reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted online at www.street-spirit.co.uk
  • In the event of any dispute regarding the competition, the final decision of SERP shall be binding and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
  • The prizes are non-transferable and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.
  • The winners will be notified by 14th July 2019.
  • Essex County Fire & Rescue Service/SERP will not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, or disappointment suffered by any entrant as a result of entering the draw or accepting any prize.
